- Superior results require a careful choice of mounting medium. Stained histological sections prepared in paraffin are the least demanding. The relative stain uptake of various cells and tissue components determines the image contrast. Because this embedding medium is removed before the section is mounted, it does not contribute to the final image. Permount is recommended as a standard histological mountant for such sections. 100 ml.
